KPU REB #H23-02783

We would like to invite you to participate in an upcoming online research study starting in March. The study will be an ongoing, multi-year study to learn how people’s thinking develops over time and across the lifespan.

  • We are looking for individuals between the ages of 10-15, 40-45, and 65-70 years old. Parental/guardian consent is required for individuals 10-13.

  • This study spans multiple years, and we hope participants will return in future years. The first part of the study takes approximately 60 minutes. The second part takes approximately 80-100 minutes.

  • Participants will receive a $20 CAD Amazon e-gift card for the first part. For each subsequent part, this amount will increase by $5!

If you have any questions or want to be placed on a list to participate once the study launches, please send us an email at LifeSpanCognition@kpu.ca!

Hindsight Bias and Metacognition in Children and Young Adults Study

The work is hosted by Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Lifespan Cognition Lab. Hindsight bias is the tendency for individuals to claim that past events were more predictable than they were, while metacognition is awareness of one's own thoughts.

  • We are inviting your children, ages 7.5 years to 9.5 years of age to participate in the study.

  • The study is expected to take around 45 minutes to complete.

  • We will be offering a $10.00 gift card to participants for compensation
